Countertops
Wipe countertops daily with a clean damp rag and a neutral (pH 7) chemical cleaner.
Kitchen surfaces should undergo periodic deep cleans to further remove trapped dirt and oils.
Consider covering high traffic surfaces or food contact surfaces with washable laminate sheets.
Avoid knife cutting on granite countertops as it can leave scratches.
Never use acid cleaning agents on marble or limestone surfaces.
Floors
Sweep, mop, and vacuum your floors at a minimum every week.
If you have young children, consider performing this action more frequently.
Before mopping, remove all loose debris and dust with vacuum or broom.
Do not flood the floor when mopping.
If spills occur, don't rub. Blot instead to absorb and not rub in the stain. White wine can be used in certain occasions.
Vehicles
Wipe steering wheel and center consoles daily with a clean damp rag and a safe, neutral chemical cleaner.
Wipe down the corresponding seats and doors after anytime you have passengers.
Vacuum flooring and seats monthly to remove any potentially harmful debris
Make sure any chemicals used are approved for the corresponding surface (i.e. vinyl, plastics, leather, etc.)
Walls
Wipe down light switches and door knobs weekly, if not more frequently in high risk situations, to ensure the protection of all household or business occupants
Wipe walls monthly with a clean damp rag and a safe, neutral chemical cleaner
For shower walls, squeegee all wall surfaces upon completion of each shower.
Consider toothbrushes to remove tough spots or dirt in grout between tile flooring, walls, or countertops.
Household Items
High-touch surfaces (surfaces that are touched many times a day by many different hands), sink handles, shared computer keyboards and mice, telephones, microwave and elevator buttons should be cleaned with detergent, water, and a microfiber cloth more frequently to control the spread of infectious diseases. Add in a disinfectant if outbreak is occurring.
Wipe down the inside of your microwave after any spill.
